Home

I've been home for two weeks now and I finally finished posting a few (abt 70 of the 900) photos Dad and I took of our six day trip! WhooHoo! It feels good to finally check that off of my list! I hope you enjoy looking at them! Please make comments! :-)

I'm still amazed that we did about 4,000 miles on that trip and that we did so much in a mere six days. I don't know how Jessica feels about the trip, but I totally enjoyed the conversations (as ADD and random as they were!), the camaraderie, and experience!  I'm sure blessed to have such a friend! She actually survived a cross country trip with my dad and me! lol!

Then, after two days of driving, we did the two days of Front Sight training. I posted the course critique that I filled out and e-mailed to Front Sight in an earlier post. I don't know that there is anything more I can say. Someone called it Disneyland for gun lovers. I think that sounds about right!

Since being home, I've been blessed to spend time with old friends!

I'll have to post a few photos from our trip to the Edward's urban farm. I can't guarantee photos any time soon tho... My mom, Steph and I were able to spend a night with three happy lively boys and their wonderful mom, as well as their chickens, tadpoles, and dog. We had a marvelous time spent sewing curtains, painting with side-walk chalk, eating chocolate and sharing girl talk, watching a chick flick, eating homemade meals... God has blessed us with their friendship!

The Saturday after I got home, we attended our friend Lindsey's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding. and I'm so happy for them! I don't know her husband very well, but they both looked so happy and I've heard he is a really fine person.

Now, without a doubt lawn croquet, played with a friend is on the top of my list for a fun way to spend a spring or summer afternoon! Homemade sweet ice-tea with a squeeze of lemon just makes it that much better!  I love living close enough to Anna and Christina that I can bike over to their house in about 8 minutes and spend an hour or two with them! And they can come over here just as easily!

Another afternoon was spent with Gretchen searching for a dress for her graduation. I am so happy for her - she is almost finished with her degree! Yeehaw! Unfortunately, she didn't find a dress on our outing. We did have fun looking! And I had fun trying on a few dresses I'll never buy! lol! The shopping trip was a success in some ways as Gretchen did find a sweet baby outfit for her expecting friend. Baby clothes shopping. That was a new experience for me! I mean, I've looked at baby-stuff with my mom for her expecting friends (or for expecting grandparents!), but not with my own friends... Sigh... I guess I'm in a new stage in life...

Attending the MSOA art revue with Colleena was another fun time. Man, I missed that girl while I was at school! The evening was fun. I'm totally amazed at the gift of art some people are blessed with! The art was beautiful, but the best part of the outing was the conversation and the catching up Steph, Ena and I did while we drove the long stretch between Tualatin and Sunny Side.

As much as I would like to say my three weeks at home have been all fun and friends, there has been the time spent in a job-search. Just simply popping into stores, asking if they are hiring, and if they are, filling out an application or completing their survey-thing doesn't sound daunting, but it is. To say I'm not feeling a bit discouraged and a bit in doubt of finding work for the next 12 or so weeks, would be a fib. I'd appreciate prayer!
