Oh what to write...
My Mondays
6:30 am Rise and Shine. My cell phone alarm goes off. Sometimes I hit that snooze three times. Sometime I just get up.
I get up and out of my squeaky wobbly lofted bed (gonna fix that one of these days...) Grab my towel and bathroom basket with stuff like toothpaste, tooth brush, comb, shampoo, conditioner, rubber bands, foundation, headband...
Go to the 2nd Crawford bathroom. Stand at the sink on the right side with the window and the windowsill on my left. Do those normal morning things.
Go back to my room. My roommate is still asleep so it takes me a moment to adjust my eyes to the dark room. Sometimes I've laid out my clothes the night before and sometimes I have to paw around guessing to which shirt I'm grabbing.
7:15 am I am at the Caf. Eating breaky at the same table - the second one in on the left. I make myself an omelet at the omelet bar most mornings. Thank you God for that omelet station! Real eggs. I'm not sure what they do to the ones on the mainline, but they aren't real tasting!
--> 7:30am the library and library computer lab opens, which means if I have a paper due that needs printing, this is when I'll do it...
8:00am I am in Morrison. Which room, I cannot remember - it's the big one on the second floor. It is Western Classics class with Dr. Vincent. He is pleasant. Think Santa Clause. His voice is pleasant too. Which is not always a good thing at 8 in the morning when at times I'm not fully awake... or at least wish I could head back to dreamland...
8:50 - I'm heading to Reasoner 122...121... 12something for 9 am Understanding New Testament class with Prof. Neil Anderson who is super-uber excited about going to the Holy Land in May and thats okay with me. I'd rather have an excited prof who talks about "when we get to..." or "we'll be seeing..." or "I can't wait until we..." than have a boring one...
9:50 am I'm heading upstairs and on to Hughe's Auditorium for 10am chapel (which is required and attendance is taken) to seat E12 Sophomore section, real close to the front, where you can feel the chapel speaker spit and are able to count his blinks...
11am I have a "free" hour to check e-mails, catch up on reading due that afternoon...etc.
12pm I am back in Morrison, third floor this time, in Prof Hurlow's Magazine and Feature Writing Class.
12:55pm She lets us out late often and I have to hike to the other side of campus - which takes me about 4 minutes powerwalking...
1pm I am in Prof Wheeler's Newsgathering class where I'm still confused, befuddled,... about what our final project(s) is/are... He is real chill about teaching. He is also an excited teacher like Anderson. He is a hard grader.
2 to 4 pm I get to do homework, reading, interviewing, snack, mail...
4:30 is an essencial part of my mondays- GlideCrawford Walking Club... which is on a hiatus right now... whatever that means...
5pm dinner in the Caf. They say hunger is the best seasoning. I tend to agree with them. I admit it. I don't have good eating habits when it comes to lunch. I don't eat lunch most M/W/F. I mean - where would I anyway? maybe during that 11am break if I were hungry... oh well. I'm hungry by time 5pm rolls around and really can't complain about the food in the Caf - maybe because hunger is good seasoning?
6 to 8pm homework, reading, interviewing, goofing off....
8pm work. Tutoring math. How'd that happen? What am I doing? Seriously - mench!?
9pm to the good ol' dorm room to get to bed by 11pm...
Now repeat that like on Wednesday and Friday....
I'll tell you about my Tuesday/Thursday another time...
They are a bit more interesting....
...just a bit...
:-)
